Alvin Townley co-founded SKILLED Nation in 2021, creating a sector-leading non-profit that spans business strategy, philanthropy, and public policy. Together with major partners like 3M, Ford, GE Vernova, and The Home Depot, SKILLED Nation has closed the skills gap by funding 3,000 at-scale scholarships (and counting) for skilled careers.

A storyteller at heart, Alvin has recorded stories on five continents and four oceans. Peyton Manning, Jimmy Carter, John McCain, The New York Times, and others reviewed his five books; Delta Air Lines, The White House, and the U.S. Air Force, Military, and Naval Academies have invited him to speak.

Prior to starting SKILLED Nation, he graduated from Washington & Lee University, worked on Capitol Hill, managed global strategy for a top consulting firm, and pursued adventures that took him around the world three times. He now works to tell the story of how skills education can transform lives, industries, and economies.

An Eagle Scout, former NCAA athlete, and youth soccer coach, Alvin lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his family.
